What to wear, season by season
The right kimono changes with the light. Here is what our stylists reach for each season.
Spring · March–May
Pastel silks with sakura and peony patterns. Lace overlays photograph beautifully under soft cherry-blossom light.
Summer · June–August
Cool yukata in cotton and hemp, breathable weaves, bright indigo and citrus tones for river-side shoots.
Autumn · September–November
Rich burgundy, mustard and moss greens with maple motifs — perfect against Asakusa's golden foliage.
Winter · December–February
Warm lined kimono with velvet haori and fur shawls. Deep jewel tones for crisp blue-sky afternoons.
Fabric & craftsmanship
Every kimono is chosen for how it moves, breathes and catches light.
Silk (正絹)
Reserved for our furisode and premium range. Soft drape, luminous sheen, keeps warmth in winter.
Modern polyester
Wrinkle resistant, easy to walk in — our most popular fabric for daytime rentals in Asakusa.
Lace overlay
Handmade lace layered over a plain kimono. Adds airy volume without extra weight.
Cotton yukata
Breathable summer weave. Comfortable in humid Tokyo afternoons and evening fireworks.
Size guide
Kimono are adjusted on the body — our stylists fit each guest precisely. Below are the ranges we stock.
Styling tips from our stylists
- 1.Pastel kimono photograph best in soft morning light — book an 8:00 slot for cherry-blossom season.
- 2.Contrast your obi with the kimono body: warm silk with a cool obi always reads elegant.
- 3.Hair up shows the collar (eri) — the most refined line of the kimono silhouette.
- 4.For couples, echo one shared colour between the two kimono rather than matching everything.
- 5.Choose sandals a half-size smaller for a neat classical look.
